WHAT’S ON

WELCOME TO
THE BARRACKS

Now part of City Tattersalls Group, The Barracks is an institution of the north-western part of Sydney CBD with a proud history dating back to the 1940s. Behind the sandstone façade are three unique levels which can be booked for a variety of events and functions.

In the main bar at street level, guests will see the historic connection to the RSL and the armed forces with the walls lined with unit insignias. The Ode of Remembrance is observed every evening at 6pm as a mark of respect to those who have served and fallen in the line of duty.

The most popular beers including Reschs are on tap, sport is shown on the televisions, and pub classics including burgers, fish and chips, and chicken schnitzel are served in the basement bistro.

The Barracks Restaurant, located on the light-filled first floor, offers a modern Australian menu by chef Jason Bygrave. It’s the perfect spot for a long lunch or function, with the Panko Crumbed Lamb Cutlets a firm favourite with regulars. It’s open for lunch Tuesday to Friday.

Applications for membership of City Tattersalls Club can be made online here, or ask at the bar for a form. Gold members receive 10% off food and beverages at The Barracks, as well as City Tatts’ other Sydney venue, The Castlereagh.
